From providing scholarships to aspiring healthcare professionals to offering vital support for in-need patients and their families, our programs are designed to uplift and empower. For decades, the Hospital Auxiliary has donated to a variety of charitable and educational organizations to make quality healthcare more accessible to all residents of the low country around Hilton Head, Bluffton and Okatie.  Currently, the Auxiliary supports several recipients with large donations that primarily focus on workforce development for nurses and patient support.

Novant Health is an integrated network of hundreds of medical facilities providing a seamless and personalized healthcare experience for communities across North and South Carolina.  They are nationally recognized for their unwavering commitment to safety and the highest quality care.  Novant’s award-winning, expert care is supported by leading-edge technology, advanced clinical training, and unprecedented access.

The Auxiliary has supported Hilton Head Hospital staff and their dependents for decades, having provided the first nursing scholarship almost 50 years ago in 1978.  Since 2020, the Auxiliary has awarded scholarships to more than 50 employees and their dependents at Hilton Head Hospital, Coastal Carolina Hospital and their associated practices.

Novant Health Foundation’s philanthropic efforts inspire giving that supports programs and initiatives having direct patient impact. The Novant Health Foundation is on a mission to engage and connect philanthropic partners to Novant Health programs and initiatives that save lives and improve the health of the communities served.

The Novant Health Foundation in South Carolina was established after Novant purchased Hilton Head Hospital in 2024.  In the past two years, the Auxiliary has supported improvements to the Cardiac Rehab Center at Hilton Head Hospital, as well as the fund that supports Novant employees.

USCB is a public, comprehensive institution in the University of South Carolina system.  The University of South Carolina Beaufort’s Nursing program is nationally recognized for equipping its students to meet the complex needs of patients and families in an ever-changing healthcare environment. The school is committed to teaching, research and service to address health care needs in South Carolina.

The Auxiliary currently supports the USCB Nursing Program with a large annual donation that assists students with financial need.  Since 2020, Auxiliary donations have awarded more than 75 scholarships to deserving students.

TCL is a comprehensive, public, two-year college dedicated to serving the diverse educational needs of Beaufort, Colleton, Hampton, and Jasper Counties.  TCL’s Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program provides the hands-on education and knowledge needed for a rewarding and in-demand career as a nurse.  Students experience on-campus learning using high-tech simulation equipment and receive additional hands-on practice at clinical sites located in the area.

The Auxiliary currently supports TCL’s Nursing and Healthcare Programs with a large annual donation that assists students with financial need.  Since 2020, Auxiliary donations have awarded more than 60 scholarships to deserving students.

SCNRI is a local non-profit dedicated to attracting new nurse graduates and retaining their services on Hilton Head Island and surrounding areas to address the critical nursing shortage in our area.  It builds a sustainable pipeline of nurses who live and work in our local communities, thereby helping to ensure greater access to quality healthcare for our residents.  SCNRI offers a unique “post-graduation” financial award program in return for a work commitment to stay local. The financial incentive provides up to $9,000 (BSN) and $6,000 (ADN) over two years based on merit, dedication to the nursing profession, financial need and long-term commitment.

In the past several years, the Auxiliary has made significant donations to SCNRI, which have been used to keep more than 10 nurses employed in our local communities.
